Do I need an API key to use them?+
Not for most of them — 776 of the 1605 APIs listed require no authentication at all. Others need an API key or OAuth; each listing shows its auth requirement at a glance.
What do the HTTPS and CORS columns mean?+
HTTPS indicates whether the API is served over a secure HTTPS connection. CORS indicates whether browsers can call it directly from front-end code without a server-side proxy.
How often is this directory updated?+
The source list is maintained by the public-apis community on GitHub. We sync new additions regularly and run automated health checks so dead endpoints are flagged instead of listed as working.
