Overview

The Discogs API searches the world’s largest vinyl/music database — releases, artists, labels, and marketplace. Public searches work without auth (verified live — 197k+ results); OAuth adds user collections and marketplace.

Authentication

• Anonymous: database reads work keyless (verified — rate-limited).
• OAuth 1.0a (or a personal token) for user collections and marketplace orders.
• Send a token as the Authorization: Discogs token=YOUR_TOKEN header.

Rate Limits & Notes

• Anonymous: ~25 requests/minute (be polite); authenticated: 60/minute.
• Endpoints: /database/search, /releases/{id}, /artists/{id}, /labels/{id}, /marketplace/....
• The marketplace API needs OAuth.
