Overview

OpenDota provides Dota 2 match data, player statistics, and hero analytics — free and open. It powers most community Dota tools.

⚠️ Status (verified 2026-08): api.opendota.com returned HTTP 521 (Cloudflare “web server is down”) during our check — the service was unreachable from our network at that moment. It’s a long-running community service, so this may be a temporary outage — verify from your network before relying on it.

Authentication

• Anonymous: rate-limited reads (verified — the API is keyless for public data).
• A free API key (from the OpenDota dashboard) raises limits.

Rate Limits & Notes

• Public tier: limited requests/minute (see docs); a key raises them.
• Data covers heroes, players, matches, leagues, and pro matches.
• The API has been a community staple since 2017 — outages are rare but happen (our 521 check).
