⚠️ Status (verified 2026-08):
fishwatch.gov/api/speciesnow returns HTTP 301 to the NOAA fisheries site — the FishWatch API has been retired/migrated (the site is now Drupal content on fisheries.noaa.gov). Do not build new projects on it.
